Job Productivity Assurance and Control (JPAC®) 301: Review and usage of JPAC® outputThis course covers how to utilize the JPAC® output, including data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.  The JPAC® output requires understanding of variation and how it should be managed for optimal process control and learning.  The distinction of special cause and common cause variation will be reviewed so that participants will understand how to read the JPAC® output.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • Understanding variation: what it is, why it matters, and how it is part of the JPAC® output
  • Early warning signals of productivity deviation from expectations, and how to respond to them
  • Process flags to identify if the data is being collected, reported, and input correctly
  • Integration of JPAC® output with the overall Process of Project Management
  • Overview of how to utilize JPAC® reporting for feedback on the project internally and externally, including project schedules, project communications, and project and process modeling.

Short Interval Scheduling (SIS®) 301: Using the results for job level improvement

The SIS® process involves the daily collection of obstacles to completing scheduled activities.  This data can be used daily for quick feedback and reaction to obstacles.  However, it is most effectively used for job-level improvement and reduction of common obstacles.  To utilize the daily feedback to accomplish this, participants will learn how to:

  • Capture, analyze, and improve the jobsite obstacles and situations identified in SIS®
  • Focus on the 3-day look ahead for effectively scheduling work and ancillary requirements based on this short interval schedule
  • Learn how the SIS® process connects to the overall Process of Field Management

Externalizing Work® through Prefabrication 301: Setting up the prefab environment

  • Facility planning and layout
  • Production planning and techniques for measurement and tracking
  • Visibility of production to the jobsite and visibility of the jobsite to production, through the project schedule and project model (2D and 3D) connection and JPAC® and SIS® measurements on the project
  • Logistics for packaging, shipping, and delivery

Externalizing Work® through Vendor Managed Inventory 301: VMI information interchange and measurements of success

  • Material purchasing, including costing and pricing, and bill of material
  • Project plan and schedule
  • Information about the material such as lead times, backorder notifications, delivery look aheads
  • Returns and process for returning-as-you-go
  • Measures of success of the VMI for both the contractor and vendor
